50th jubliee writing

On Labour Weekend, 2014, Oaklands School had their 50th Jubilee.At the Jubilee we had a production called “WHO CARES, WE DO” and also the music room has an archive display with all the school’s memories and photos, there was also a Jubilee cake.

The school has changed a lot since 1964; in 1964 there were 240 students approximately, 9 staff and 7 classes, but now we have 580 students, 27 teaching staff and 25 classes .

In the next 50 years I think the school will have more play space and more buildings e.g a science room, and the school might also get more land, the books will be holograms instead of paper and there will be information helmets that you put on your head then information gets transported to your brain.

I will be 60 in 50 more years time, and I hope the school will be even better than it is now.

When I come back in the next 50 years I think I will remember the teachers I have had in my years at this school because I will remember what they have taught me all the year.

Narrative Writing

 Book's Doom!
On the 31st of October(Halloween) in the year 1700 a girl named Steph who boarded a cruise boat. Steph was a ordinary girl, aged 17 and was short for her age and had hazel hair that reached to her shoulders. Though little did she know what the future held for her.

Mr Linden the the boat owner let Steph ride on his boat because Mr Linden was friends with Steph's dad since preschool. Steph was never good at entertaining herself, so she got bored and asked Mr Linden if he had any books. Mr Linden had a library on the boat, so he lead her there. The library it self was not very stimulating because it only had a worn out couch that was collecting dust and a shelf holding only a few dusty books. Steph picked three books off the shelf. But Mr Linden warned her about a special book.

Steph ignored Mr Linden and went back to her small cosy bunk room. And then sat down on her bed she turned on the bedside lamp. She choose a book to read called "Great captains of the seven seas."

When she finished the book she picked a book that had a terrifying cover, the book had a bright red cover with a pale white skeleton that had a menacing look. But Steph didn't care. When she opened the book a bright light shone at her face, "AHHH Help!" screamed Steph, and she fell into a deep sleep. Will she ever come back?...

POP ART!

                                      Choose your culture,treat it
                                       four ways.

             We are learning about the elements and techniques of painting.
                 We are able to share our cultural identities through the arts.

1. For my culture I chose China because my mum from China and so is my family. I researched icons to help me chose, then finally I chose the panda.

2. Then we learnt about Andy Warhol's famous art. Since Andy did pop art, we (Room11) chose to do pop art as well. I liked what Andy said, he said "The rules of art are made to be broken.

3. To help us chose colours for our painting we used the colour wheel, we also used different techniques for our painting like:

*Primary colours- Red, yellow and blue.

*Secondary colours- You need to mix primary colours to get secondary.

*Complementary colours- Colours that are opposite each other and look good with each other.

*Analagous colours- Three colours that are beside each other on the colour wheel, and one is the main colour.

*Monochrome colours- Different shades of one colour.

For my choses of colour techniques I chose:

* Complementary-Red and green.

* Analagous-Green, yellow and blue.

* Black and white.

* Monochrome-Green

I have done well with painting and has severel elements and techniques.
